Finally did my first track day Monday! Some friends & I went down to Roebling Roads raceway near Savannah, Ga. for a private session with Nate Kern. We had the 2.2 mile road course all day long for 16 riders, and I learned A TON. The weather was perfect... it was the best day of riding I've ever had... it was perfect...

Rydor,
Excellent! Last year our 2 "kids" (22 & 20 y.o.) and I did a track day too. What a pisser, eh?
Looks like you had a really great day and to do one with N8 is even better. From what I have read, he seems like a nice guy.
Have any a**hole pucker moments? Bet your tires don't have much of a chicken strip left.
Talk to you at HM.

Now that's a LOT better than some stupid golf outing my friends want to do. I have to watch for something like that next spring.
And Nate truly is one of the "great guys" you will ever talk to. _________________ '93 K1100LT

Roebling Roads is a pretty tight track, how the the long wheelbase do?
Did you get a chance to get on a 1000RR? |

Now Bob, what's wrong with a round of golf. What better way to enjoy the beauty of nature. _________________ Ride safe.

The K did very well. The thing with the K12 is, you have to really want to cut into those corners to make it happen! I felt I held my own once I figured how to carry speed out of turn 8 into the straightaway, where it shined. Around the 4th session the lightbulb went off, and I started really using the whole track instead of trying to follow the same line as the lighter bikes, then I was really knee dragging
I never had the chance to ride an S1000RR that day, and there was no way I could hang with those bikes. At one point, Nate passed me doing a wheelie! Humbling... |

| I will take the R1100S next time if I can get a hold of a 5.5 inch rear rim. My R bike currently has the narrower 5 inch one, and is a little squirrelly when ridden aggressively. |
