|
|
Hello!
Thanks to my friend initiative a was able to make a dyno run of 1995 K1100RS.
Here is the plot:
Click for full size
Too sum up: 95,4 BPH @8000 on clutch and 92,8 Nm @ 5970 . Quite well for almost 100 000 Km and over 15 years old engine.
One thing that make me not sleep well is torque loss, ~ 14 Nm loss, and poor result on fumes probe -> problems with combustion -> valve clearance, valve burn out or compression problem. The investigation is ongoing .
And just for an amusement the video.

How did you measure power/torque at clutch? _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

Hello!
The calculation is done after maesuring transmissing drag during spin down of dyno. It its a green line on the plot. Whole maesuting equpment is a complicated, has pritty smart computer software.

I guess the clutch is depressed during spin down?
It seems reasonable even though it is assumed that the drag is the same whatever the torque comes from (engine or dyno).
It is not that complicated, I am sure you can compute the curves in excel from the rev vs time curve and some dyno constants. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

As long as a clutch does not slip it will not "consume" any power or torque. So the clutch is engaged through all the measurements. Friction in the transmission on another hand will reduce the output power but not torque.

Well there such tools using OBD and a computer to plot statistics during accelerating and spin down of a car.

Then I think it is not adequate, because you are measuring the engine drag too. Drag reduces torque and power, power is the product of torque by rotation speed (rev/s), if you know one curve you can compute the other (that's what the dyno computer does). _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.
