Has anyone out there tried to put a fuel pump out of a K100 in a K1100?
They have different part numbers, are they different diameter ? The reason I ask is I have a couple of K100 pumps and the one in my K1100 sounds like a coffee grinder at times.
Thanks in advance Jim.............. _________________ Jim Benge, San Diego, CA.

Hi, Jim,
The Bosch 52mm diameter pumps will work. You will need the pump and the corresponding vibration damper. The mount which clips onto the fuel tank is the same for both pumps. I don't know if the wire connectors will have to be changed or not. _________________ Ride Safe,

Thanks Phil, that makes sense. I am going to the national in a couple of weeks and was thinking of swapping out my pump with another one I have. The spare one I have has 150K on it though. So I have decided to take along the numbers for the cheap replacements. They should be available at any auto parts store. If I make it home OK I am going to buy one off ebay $20 - $30 and try it out. Gotta be quieter than the stock one. Mine is not too noisy until I get low on fuel then it really screams. Lets hope it lasts another 6K miles. _________________ Jim Benge, San Diego, CA.

If you take a spare with you the part will not fail. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Hi, Jim,
In my message, I forgot to say you also will need the strainer for the 52mm pump. It's different from the one on the 43mm pump. _________________ Ride Safe,

Hi Phil
Thanks, I'll look at my parts, I think I have all the parts. I may just take them with me to the National. What the hell I am already taking the old lady, dragging the Getaway trailer and all the camping junk anyway. _________________ Jim Benge, San Diego, CA.
