We made it to the rally in Bloomsburg, PA. from Las Vegas, NV. Total miles to get there - 2660. This was Donna's (my wife) first rally, she now has a rally patch on her jacket. Boy it was HOT & MUGGY, but we still enjoyed walking around the rally, some great looking BMW's. More to come..

Good for you guys! I know some local people who bailed because of the heat...

Hope you enjoy the rally.

rydor,

That was absolutely the most entertaining cover band I've ever heard, if you are talking about the Motorrad tent.

Wish I had known you were there, we did some burning up of the rural roads.

Sorry I missed you guys! As far as riding, I was having seat issues and didn't do any rec riding until I picked up a Sargent seat Friday. The stock R1100S unit was a torture rack for me! Would have been nice to connect tho. If you saw the whole Friday show, I was up there helping Nate with his race bike. At one point I was riding it around the grounds... thought I was the coolest MoFo on the planet Cool

rydor,

I'm in your freaking video! Dark green Airhead shirt with blue neck scarf. Near the beginning walking right to left.

Did you dig the Yuengling?

Hey Sean,

Thought a BMW Rally was only for old farts like most of us in the OG, not for young fellas like you Laughing Laughing

John,

There is the rally where people walk around, look at bikes and talk. Then there is the rally where the demo ride leader slides her little butt off the side of the saddle at the first set of turns. GAME ON!

Local riders let you know about their own tails of the dragon, favorite cafes and watering holes. I enjoy the heck out of areas I not familiar with.

There truly is a rally within the rally.

So.......Steven, Donna, Bob and Sean,

I might have to check out the 2012 MOA Rally- Sedalia, Missouri? 1400 miles. Nuttin' to it. 2 easy days each way.

At least it will be closer to you folks in '12.

BTW, what did you all do for accommodations? Tent or ? I would imagine that Steven and Donna must have had a room somewhere- bit tight trying to get camping gear on a 2-up brick

I would probably be one-up, traveling alone.

Thanks for the pictures (and video) everyone Very Happy

John

I might even have to check out that one next year if it's that close.

John,

My three friends and I stayed in an apartment on Bloomsburg College campus. Kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each....and most important this year....air conditioning in every room.

MOA usually makes arrangements for college facilities where ever they have the rally.

John,

We had a motel reserved in Mifflinville for one night, nothing against those who camp, but I'm not sleeping on the ground after riding all day - I want my comforts, a bed, shower and toilet!!

I felt for those camping at Bloomsburg - it was ridiculously hot there.

Steven,

You and Donna are my heroes. Lots of miles 2-up on an RS.

Cathy would put up with it, but not her first (or second/third +) choice.

Maybe we will see you at HM V?

John
