I let the fork drain all day. Aside from losing about 10 ml when the top plug was removed, I got all of it.
After the whole day, it dripped out 350 ml. Maybe it was overfilled a little??
I will put back in 350 ml and clean everything up and see what happens. I find it very interesting that the oil that was leaking was very clean, and the stuff that came out was pretty dirty after not that many miles. All parts were cleaned completely, and all wear parts were replaced...I did not think it would get that dirty, so soon. ( it is black)
Thanks,

Unfortunatly, I have the same issue. My forks were rebuilt early last year because the front right fork was weaping. this year When I took the bike out it was leaking badly. Worse yet I had a spill with the bike on sand and have now been doing repairs for that. I was told by the BMW dealer that the absorber might need to be replaced. Could you tell me if you could get new seals and such for the fork? I also was told they were not available. I will check for your replies. _________________ Live free and ride hard. 94 K1100RS Brick rider |

Joe:
I'm currently experiencing the same thing. Just bought a K1100Rs from the dealer with 65k on it. It was sitting at the dealership for a few months. I rode it two times for about 100 miles. Woke up to a foot round puddle on the garage floor. It's coming from the fork seal on the left side. I'm hoping the previous owner just overfilled it (400cc). Will replace with 350cc of 10W and see what gives... |

Jim,
Of course the parts are available. My usual source for parts is MaxBMW.

If you have a few extra days to wait:
http://www.motobins.co.uk/bmw-parts.php?model=K%20Series
Lots of folks here have replaced their own seals. Do a forum search and you will see "how-to's" and many helpful hints.
Good luck,
