Steping away from the boot topic, can someone post a pic of the position the Mototronic unit gets mounted. My K11 is an ex police bike from Yorkshire (10 years with the police), had an owner for a year then made its way to the emerald isle. It sat in a shed at the rear of a dealers for 5 years until I got it in May. The previous owner did some strange DIY to the electrics that I have now fixed. The Mototronic unit now rests on top of the ABS unit, not fixed to anything. I cannot see any mounting points. Help

Thanks
Gerard

P.S If you are reading this Ernie, I will take photos of the homeland once I manage to get further than the end the lane!

I'm guessing that, yours like mine is an ABS2 bike, with a 19Ah battery, which sits at the side of the ABS. The Motronic should sit in a frame, which is part of the battery retaining plate.

Mine's an ABS1 from '93, so I didn't want to show you any pics of mine if yours was different...

Good luck! I assume it's mostly the mounting plate you need and maybe the screws to secure it with. Hopefully the battery hold down is there (?).

Hi Gerard...

On my K1100LT... the Motronic sits lengthwise directly on top of the battery 'hold down' on the right hand side of the bike. In the rear there is a rubber grommet which accepts the rear tang of the Motronic housing, and in the front it is secured with a cap screw. You can see this on the fiche that Max Motors displays or maybe Motobins as well... look them up. Sounds like you need the battery 'hold down'..

Good luck.........// Ernie in NH

Thanks guys, I think the parts list is just going to get longer, battery seems to be held in place by gravity!
