Hello all...
One of the guys ( Mr. J.S.Wilson ) from the Airhead forum that I also belong to ( ie: old BMW air cooled boxer engine bikes )... posted a photo journal of a trip his dad made in the early 1950s from England ( first by plane ) and on to a round trip through France, Germany, Austria, etc.. I found the pictures of the villages and terrain that I also know, to be exciting in view of the dramatic changes that have been made in the last 60+ years, but also exciting in those images of places that have changed little. The riding gear and outfits are almost laughable in comparison to our todays emphasis on ATGATT, BUT what an adventure that must have been !! Makes me wish I had a time-machine to join them on-route..

That was awesome Ernie. I looped through much the same area about 12 years ago (by car) and things have certainly changed, not necessarly for the better. Those must have been wonderful times and places, especially with the war behind them. What a great find!
Cheers,

Man it's awesome!
I am surprised by the quality of the pictures, they lack a bit of contrast which could be easily digitally enhanced but look very good otherwise. Did you scan the film or prints? _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.
