Painful to see. He certainly brought a non-standard character to the sport. I had actually gotten his autograph at Indy in '09, so followed his exploits.
No offense intended, but wondered how he could get all that hair in the helmet and have it fit properly. Now we know--he couldn't.
Truly a sad day.

Unbelievable. I saw the news early this morning.
Simo had a rough start this year but lately was riding smarter and much faster. He looked to be heading towards "new alien" status and many high placings in MotoGP.
Take this the right way- although a young life was lost today, he died doing what he loved to do.
