Sean and Audi,
Looking at a Boxer Cup to add to the garage.
Even Jen said she would ride it (and she thinks almost every other BMW looks like an old fart bike, except for this, a HP2 Sport and an RR - good taste, huh? )
What can you guys tell me about a BC? What to look for and/or what to avoid?
Have a line on one locally.
Thanks.

Ernie,
2 wheels, without a doubt.
IIRC, an Oilhead.
Limited production version of the R1100S.

Hi John...
I thought perhaps you had misspelled "Coupe".. of those I've had the bathtub "Bavaria 2002", 2 '318's, 1 '325i' and a '525i' , plus a Porsche 356 and a 914.. So when it comes to BMW coupes thought I might be able to help with advice... However, regarding "oilheads" I have NO experience !! Sorry....
Best regards and mind the snow...eh? .......// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Hi John.
some things to note.
They made the BCR in 03,04,05.
the 03 is a single spark. the only difference from the S is it had the Laser exhaust and the 2 color paint job. 300 imported to the US.
the 04 is a dual spark, laser exhaust and 2 color special paint. 300 imported.
the 05 is the real replica. i has the taller/longer forks(13mm), datona gear box(1st and 6st) have taller ratios, no abs, no heated grips, no faring mounted mirrors, 14 amp batt, short paralever arm, BMW/Brembo calipers, Track seat(tall & narrow), Tri color paint. 34.5 in seat height 460lbs dry..... 1000 worldwide, 300 imported to US.
My friend has an 04, and it is quite different from my 05, but it still smoking fast and fun to ride like all 11S'....
A good bike also is the 11S Prep...all the race stuf sans ABS and carbon extras. |
