I have been lurking for over a year and finally decided to sign up. I bought a 1994 K1100RS with ~22250 miles in January of 2011. Now it has ~26500 miles and I am looking forward to many more miles. Bike was in great shape and obviously low miles when I bought it. I changed all of the fluids last year just because of the age. I also had to replace the fork seals and add gaiters as recommended here, otherwise no issues in my first year as a K11 owner.

Also I live in Overland Park, Kansas if there are any other BMW owners in the area I would be happy to get to know you and ride.

Welcome! I am on my second K bike and they are reliable. I put 65000 on my last one and only had a clutch replaced. Its helpful to have this forum to learn what to watch out for and when.
