You two DO get around, don't you. Very nice photography, Donna.

See you both tomorrow.

Very cool to read about your ride. Growing up, we had a family reunion week at Hungry Mother every year. I've spent a lot of time in "your cabin". Laughing That's the one that my Aunt Janet and Uncle Glen would always get. The road from HMSP to Tazewell is being called The Back of the Dragon . I think, in some important ways at least, it's better than The Tail.

You should definitely do the Biltmore tour if you get the opportunity again. It's truly a mind boggling sight. I go whenever I can (family in Asheville).

I'm glad to have found this site. I think I'm about to make an offer on a '95 K1100RS. It'll be my first beemer, although I have several bimmers. Very Happy

We did that road as a group, check out the group ride pics, sure it is on the blog.

Get a K - you'll love it. Many on this forum have had theirs for many years, I've had mine 20, now has 144,000 miles, only had to replace the drive shaft at 105,000.
I did have one other issue - the center stand foot peg extension broke off while gassing up, over it went....took about 10 weeks to get it fixed (insurance co. problems).

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Steven

tsmall07,

To echo what Steven posted, get the K-RS you will like it. Steven should really know- He and Donna are the current long distance RS contributors.

I find mine to be extremely comfortable for long rides. 600-700 miles in a day are very reasonable if you want to pile on the miles. Very Happy

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure that is what I will do. The guy doesn't know if he wants to sell though.
