Hi folks, i'd thought i'd share photo's of my K as a way of introducing myself & tapping into your collective knowledge at the same time.
She is a 8/97 model according to the compliance plate or a 2/96 when checking the VIN on various other websites.....
I am curious about the bracket on the rear right indicator . I would be inclined to think maybe this is an ex police bike, but it is only showing 86,728 km or 53,890 miles on the clock, which considering the condition is very plausible !
I would be very interested to learn more about the rear luggage rack , if it is an original item & if i could mount a factory top-box to it without any drama's etc.
Please feel free to ask anything, offer any advice , or just generally take the piss

The rear rack looks the same as the Givi Monokey rack I have on my K1100RS. There's an upper plate which screws onto that and then the topbox will fit. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

The bracket on the indicator is a fishing rod holder obviously. Everyone needs one of them

Make sure you come along to the Club Laverda QLD bike show at Cleveland Showgrounds on July 15th. Ask any of the Laverda people for drikko and introduce yourself
I'll remind you closer to the date. _________________ K1100RS '97

I'll leave the taking the piss to Derek, who is far more qualified on that than me . The bike screams ex-cop! The calibrated speedo and the small city panniers are a give away. the bracket would have been where the rear flashing light was. I'm out at Ipswich. |

And if the Qld coppers are like those in SA (the Orstrilian SA, not the African one!), there will be a lot of wires neatly (or not so neatly) chopped off in the front of the bike, in the area near the headlight. You might even find tags on the cables indicating things like sirens.
You might also find the sidestand switch has been disabled. _________________ David, owner of:

Hi David, i bought the bike from Albury so it may have been a Vic or Nsw police bike.Having a quick look , the wiring looks very neat & the side stand switch still works. The previous owner acquired it from someone who repainted it silver in
" Rennsport " colours ..... |
