Every since I picked up my K1100rs I have not been happy with the shifting. I felt like it shifted like a truck.
Yesterday I changed the tranny fluid out with Royal Purple Max gear. My shifting is much better. The false neutrals have gone away. So far I give it two thumbs up. But I only have about 100 miles on it so far, but it keeps getting better.
I may try the oil in the engine now. _________________ 1996 K1100rs "Helga"

Royal Purple is great stuff.
I use the assembly lube when building motors, and my Corvette race customers use the high dollar XPR in their engines.
Try the Gun oil, and the Maxfilm (like wd40) best I have ever tried.
I also have the chain lube.
I am/was a Royal Purple dealer for the last year, but the profit margin is so low I don't know if it's worth it to continue stocking it. _________________ I am: Andrew Stanford

Yea, after reading your post, I put mine on the lift, grabbed a Max-Gear off the shelf and gave it a try in the trans..
Definitely quieted it up and smoothed out the shifts.. I recommend it also. _________________ I am: Andrew Stanford

Thinking of putting some Royal purple in the Trans.
I put castrol syntrax 75W90 in on the last change but it has not made much difference .
Which one did you use - 75W90 / 75W140 / 85W140 ? |

If you also change FD lube, DON'T use the heavy stuff (the -140 weight).
Our dearly departed Phil Marvin had mentioned this to me on more than one occasion. _________________ John & Cathy

Was planning on using in trans only.Got caught out last time- bought 1 bottle of the castrol thinking it was enough to do both ( misread the quantity in manual ) so after draining both had to go out & buy another bottle @ $33.
Still unsure which weight to go with on the trans though ..... |

The royal purple 75w/90 arrived by courier this morning.
Drained the castrol out & filled it up & could not be happier with the result.
Will get on ebay & get more - seems to be the only place in Oz to buy it |
