Is there a standard replacement bulb for the brake/tail light on the K11RS? I needed a new license plate bulb and got it at the local parts store but doing some searching, couldn't find a replacement for the brake/tail light. Mine is fine but would like to have a spare. _________________ 1994 K1100RS

License plate bulb? The tail light bulb flows light down at the license plate.
Tail light bulb: Base Ba15s, 12V/10W.
Brake light bulb: Base Ba15s, 12V/21W.

Cool. Thanks for that.
I found a license plate bulb that works. It's only 8w but I'd rather have less than more. Someone before me put one in that was too much and the housing a little melted on the inside and the bulb holder is a little smokey- colored.
I'll see if I can find a tail light/brake light bulb with those specs. _________________ 1994 K1100RS

And I was looking right at those bulbs. <doh> I guess I'll be going back in there this afternoon for a back-up bulb and a quart of oil. I think I might be a touch low since I can't see any in the little view window. _________________ 1994 K1100RS

Hi guys...
OK... I'm confused... WHY does "xx$$Wolf" have a 'license plate' bulb ?? The only bulb that I have is as Inge says...ie" it flows light down onto the license plate."
So whats up ??

Just took my rear light apart last weekend. Only found a single stop/running light bulb that is also the license plate light. _________________ John & Cathy

Maybe I'm just lucky? There's 2 bulbs in there on my bike. One is constant on at 10 watts and one is the brake/tail light. <shrug> _________________ 1994 K1100RS

Can you post a picture of that setup?
I haven't had much luck with after market/imported bulbs on the K. I always buy bulbs from the dealer (except the headlight). I also keep a full spare kit on the bike. _________________ Jim

Ok, I believe I may have mis-described the setup. One bulb is the tail light/license plate light (left side of the picture) and one bulb is the brake light (right side of the picture).
