I just tried to startmy 1994 K110LT after sitting a few weeks without starting. It ground slow and then just went completely dead. Itried charging but just overloaded the charger (buzing in the bike) and kicking charger off. Any ideas? |

I would start by disconnecting the battery from the bike (earth leads all off) then charging it from the external charger first, then reconnect and see how it goes. _________________ K1100RS '97

+1, on disconnecting the battery and then try to charge the battery.
If you let the battery drain down that far it's possible that the starter relay contacts have stuck together, which could have overloaded your charger as it cant' drive the starter. _________________ Ride safe.

Bin there, done that. A smart tap on the solenoid with summat heavy usually frees them. Sorry, that necessitates taking the tank off. It will be obvious when you reconnect a good battery. Suggest you test with a remote battery & jump (booster) leads. Because if it is stuck, the leads will spark & ignite the gasses in the top of your newly charged battery, usually blows the side out DAMHIK. _________________ Regards Tim,

| Appears the stuck solenoid was the culprit and by jumping with my truck it engaged the starter and a couple of flicks to the starter button and it appears to be good now. Thanks for all the help |

There is no solenoid but a free wheel. If the free wheel starts to behave, it's bad news. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.
