Went to work today no problem with speeds at times up to 90mph.....

Parked the bike for about 4 hours....

Went out started it up and put it in gear, released the clutch after selecting 1st gear and it wouldn't move... It acted like the rear brake was on... Added a little power and "Bang" it broke free and appeared to be alright... was able to shift through all the gears easily.....

Only problem, there was this hole in the case just forward of the drain plug, letting that expensive synthetic red oil out..... along with ferrous metal fakes on the drain plug magnet..

Fortunately I can park it in my aircraft hangar where I work. Drained the remaining oil and noticed a lot of non ferrous metal floating in the oil...

I Think it's toast, but maybe some J-B Wield can make it better!!

BTW, approx 230,000 miles on the unit with yearly oil changes since new...

You sure it isn't just the drive chain oiler you're looking at? Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I suspect it's faulty.......

BTW, it might be cheaper to buy this one than fix it! Then you've got spare parts for everything except the gearbox. Sell some bits and it's all paid for!

Thanks for the offer on that great K1100RS deal!! I almost want to come down and get it as I live in the Bay Area!! That is one sweet deal, I'm surprised nobody has given that guy/girl an offer yet!!!

I have a spare transmission from a bike I purchased to get the 3 core radiator off of....

But I have to try the JB Weld first!!!!
