I found this chair at work tucked away in storage.
It seems it needed some work done to it in order to let the parents of out littlest patients rock them to sleep.
I offered because almost nothing in this world gives me more satisfaction than refinishing wood.
Here's what I found.
The first thing I did was take it apart.
Next, I strip and sand it.
I could not get these deep pits out.
Next a Wood Bleach wash.
The bleach showed where I needed to strip and sand again.
So I re-strip it and detail sand it and now it's ready for stain,
Now, it's soaking over night. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Thanks John.
No. I REALLY need to get back on that.
The Blue Streak work, real work, Christmas Lights etc. pushed it off the back of the stove. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

That is some very nice refinish work you have done so far
But we know what you mean.
Been nuts busy here too.
We went from fall to WINTER very fast here. Good news is that Jen bought herself a dirt bike- a Honda CRF230. She has been entertaining us all with donuts and rear wheel drifts through the snow. Ye ha.
Now she is sending me all these dirt-bike-for-sale ads 'cause she wants me to get into the woods with her. _________________ John & Cathy

Just noticed the chair has needle bearings. Hope you pack them with Guard Dog moly before you put it back together... _________________ Jim

@ John - Jen sounds like she's having the time of her life.
@ Jim - already on the list but I was going to use graphite.
Right this minute and for the past 2 hours I've using Google Earth to find fuel locations for the up coming LD ride.
I'm up 900 of 3600 miles. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

For some reason, I thought moly paste might be good in the bearings...
Maybe these will help you - a little... http://pure-gas.org/ and http://gasbuddy.com/ _________________ Jim

In the hospital I must use what's approved.
That is what I was told I can use.
Thanks Jim, but those are more cumbersome that just looking at the location.
It going something like this...
1. Identify the route.
2. Plot waypoints every 50 miles from start to finish ie "100 miles", "150 miles" , "200 miles"
3. Highlight the waypoints every 350 miles ie "350", 700", "1050" ....
Using the "350" as an example - I must fuel up no eariler than "300" and now later than "349"
4. Then I start waypointing possible locations.
Criteria to take into consideration involves things like ----
A. 'ez off, ez on'
B. best locations - I exit/turn right to get to
C. distance from route
D. traffic patterens that would make it difficulte to get back on route quickly
E. is fuel available 24/7
G. hours of operation
E. Is it a Travel Plaza
F. Is is off the highway
Note the following: Mile post, highway, exit number, what kind and how close is food not INSIDE the fuel station
EXAMPLES AS FOLLOWS:
(P) = prefered gas
Fuel station number 1 starting at 350
Name = 350 (1)
Fuel station number 2 starting at 350
If open 24 hours
Name = 350 (2/24)
Fuel station number 3 starting at 350
If gas is available 24 hours
Name = 350 (3/24-G)
Fuel station number 4 starting at 350
If gas is available 24 hours & open 24 hours
Name = 350 (4/24-G/O)-(P)
ONLY the name with be waypointed into the GPS
A written list that looks like this will be printed, waterproofed, and assembled into spirial bound 5x7 cards, 4 stations a card, one sided.
1. O'Brien's General Store (7-11)
350 (3/24-G)
8 Batchelder Road, Seabrook, NH 03874
(603) 474-2722
Distance - 0.3 miles
Exit to (R), one block, on (L)
42°53'46.00"N
70°53'12.11"W
315 miles
This also involves calling EACH & EVERYONE to verify some of this data in person.
