I'm starting to get my 94 K1100RS ready for the road. Next Monday
is the trip down to DMV for a set of tags. My question is this. My K bike
came without any tools. could someone take a photo of there tool kit
and make a list. My wife said that she will make a tool roll for me out of
Cordura.

Thanks Bob D

Bob - there's one here: http://www.microverse.on.ca/cd175/k1100lt.htm

If you google BMW K1100 tool kit and click on images, you'll see some other interesting stuff, too.

I use a Helen TwoWheels tool roll. If I get a few minutes later today, I'll get it and send some pix. It holds more stuff than the BMW tool kit.

Gidday Fellas,

That would be very handy also for me as I am "tooless" with this new bike, although its relatively easy to make up a new one out of spare spanners, multi grips, roll of duct tape, etc, generally enough to do a roadside repair and get to back home..

Don't forget a spare clutch cable, put it in place if you are going on a long trip, just don't connect the ends. Don't wanna be out the back o' bourke with a snapped clutch cable!

Also I would all a throttle cable and a pair of pannier hindges.
One more thing, make sure you have a socket that will actually reach and remove your spark plugs.

It's not as easy as it sounds if you find yourself needing to change one on road trip. DAMHIK Confused

Bob I have a bunch of tools here. The tool rolls are not in good shape but the tools are fine. If you make a list of which tools you want I am sure I have them.

Gidday Fellas,

I always carried a spare clutch and throttle cables on my old R100rs, had them neatly taped to the inside of my side pannier lids, various tools and spare tubes where also on board always... Luckily I never really had to use any of them on the road..

Maintenance, its a grand thing, but a flat tyre down the bottom is a complete bastard!!
