1der,
Do yourself a huge favor and upgrade all of your instrument panel lights to LEDs since you have to replace one anyway.
This kit comes will complete instructions:

You have to get the gauges off the bike- then it is pretty simple to pull the assembly apart and get to the bulbs. A bit more work to get LT gauges off the bike- easier on my RS.
You'll have to wait for an LT owner to give you hints on the first step.
BUT....until you do get to replacing the bulb(s), it is easy to tell speed by looking at the tach.
In 3rd gear, speed is pretty close to what the tach displays- for example: 30(00) rpms is 30 mph.
In 5th gear, speed is 1.5 x tach display- 30(00) rpms is 45 mph, 40(00) rpms is 60 mph and so on. _________________ John & Cathy

Getting the inst dash off isn't too terribly bad...
Personally I remove the front windscreen assy. Gives me open access to the back side mounting points of the dash.
Instead of trying to reach around blind and dropping stuff.......
The pod can be removed without removing the screen assy, it's just more challenging is all.
There will be 4 fasteners to hold the pod to the mounting bracket, and 1 fastener in the middle of the electrical plug that keeps it plugged in. _________________ Ride safe.
