This is a copy from my old post. Ernie had asked where I got the black reflkective " K1100RS " stickers on my bike.
I got them from a place named " Immortal Graphics " They make custom stickers in all sorts of materials. I liked the black reflective on my dark color bike. They are semi visible, but really light up when hit with sun or head lights. I think they were about $25 shipped. When I get to work later I can see if I can find the invoice.

Here's that post on what I did.....

The local shops wanted too much, or I just suck at negotiating.
Had one guy say $100.00. I said good bye.

I used the Rustoleum product from Wall Mart. $7.85 a can.
Remove the belly pan & was well inside & out.
I used a medium grit sanding sponge, I think it was 130 grit.
Since I was doing this myself and I did not want to coat the entire belly pan I used blue painters tape to mask off the upper part.
I used an auto based wax remover & sanded the painted area's I wanted to apply the liner too.
Really rough it up, pull the paint off. Then use the wax remover again. You can use a high ether based auto product here for what you are doing.
I used Brake Clean prior to painting to get a good chemical bite.
Spray thin coatings, allow to dry & recoat.

Once you have reached the coverage wanted, let it dry over night & remove the tape & install.
I waited a week and added pin stripes, stick on ones from Farm & Fleet.

Now and again I wipe it down with Turtla wax ICE liquid.
This stuff still chips from rocks though, so at the end of the year it needs touch up again. Easy to do, just wipe it down to remove anything on there , let dry & re-spray. Works easy.

Mine looks like the below now. The PO of my bike removed the stickers, probably with a re-paint as the belly pan was really nice when I got it. The road debris chewed it up in short order.

So I ordered some from a place on the internet in black reflective tape.
Looks cool as you can barely see it till the light hits it.

Good luck!

Jim-

Living on an unpaved road and traveling on country roads- the leading edge and bottom of mine looks like crap.

Thanks for the info.

Project for next winter.

John
