I'm looking for where to pickup power for a pair of driving lights and noticed the owners manual lists fuses 8, 9 and 10 as "special equipment". 10 doesn't have a supply wire running to it so it's out but I couldn't make sense out of where the other two go looking at the wiring diagram I have. I can mount a remote fuse or breaker if I have to but if there is an available option then I would like to avoid adding to the under tank clutter.

In an LT, 8 is the radio and map light. It is only energized with the ignition switch being "on".
Fuse 9 is typically tied to radio memory. It is not switched.
Check whether this is true on your bike with a meter to make certain nothing was changed.
Suggestion 1 - put the lights on a switched source.
Suggestion 2 - check the amp draw of what you plan to hook in. Amp draw between LED's and halogen are very different. Make sure whatever power source you use is appropriately sized... and specifically the power feed wires for that particular circuit.
Suggestion 3 - if your light's wiring is not fused, consider a fuse. You never know when water could get in or some other anomaly and short something out. Isolate whatever issue may arise to your lights. _________________ Thanks,

Get a relay from Eastern Beaver - a search will lead you to the link. Your lights will be brighter... _________________ Jim

I was hoping one of these fuses would feed an unused wire somewhere but after looking at what gauge wire they used I decided to add my own loom. For his trip I went the easy route, battery to inline to fuse, to switch the PO had used for his lights and on. I'll add the relay after this trip when I go in to tidy the cruise install up a bit.
Thanks for your input. _________________ K1100LT
