Hi John..et al...

I see that she's coming up on Buffalo in the next 20 minutes or so... it'll be interesting to know when the fist "fill up" was required.. See if the fuel cell did what it was expected to do, and IF it was as easy to employ as was hoped ! Do you know if her route was entirely inside US ?? Thinking of QE401, but then she'd have to drop low from Port Huron Flint and on to the Evanston Loop.. Maybe its I-90 all the way ?? Done it twice that way but wouldnt do it today that way... Right now shes in the saddle for just 12 hours so I hope shes still got it all together,,just past the rush hour in Buffalo..

Let me know if you get any input other than whats on the tracker.. I'm on an iTouch and somewhat limited...

best regards all.....// Ernie in NH ( sometimes )

Ernie,

Her route is entirely inside the U.S.

The rules specify that she needs to stop at or before every 350 miles.

The extra fuel tank was working just fine when Gwen was with me. She was running on it part of the time when I was with her.

She just passed the Pa/Ohio border at about 7:25pm. She's cranking out the miles (btw, Shogs almost always rides at only about 5-8 mph over the posted limit)

John

She's cooking along, past Cleveland.

That's some nasty interstate there. I hope she's hitting light traffic by now.

You're in all our thoughts tonight Gwen. Please rest when you should...

Confused Confused

Hi Steve...

You're right of course,, I think we are ALL worried that she rest properly as well as ride, and that she NOT push too hard, dangerously hard! But then we all know Gwen also, and thats the source of the worry. I'm away alone in the Maritimes and the 'tracker' is not real time on my iTouch since it only works at infrequent wifi locations... but still trying to keep current with this ride since its SO IMPORTANT to all of us,, I know the rest of you are too!

Best to all.....// Ernie in NH ( not very often lately )

6:00am (eastern time)

25 hours in and Gwen is halfway through Wisconsin and closing in on Minnesota.

She should be seeing some daylight and riding out of the night.

Having done some 24 hour mountainbike races on a 4 person team, seeing the sun come up has a way of energizing you. Hope Shogs is feeling that.

Sad Sad Very Happy Very Happy

Good morning all...

Well... OUR GIRL... is making terrific time eh ? 28 hours into the ride now, but why take the I-94 route,,, ie: from FARGO back to Billings its just long and boring ! (IMO) I've taken it once, I-90 once and I-80 once, either of which ( IMO ) rides better than I-94. Hope she's got her energy bars, bacon, Gator-Ade and 'No-Doz'.. dont want her to doze off !! Will check her tracker again today when I get back to US at Calais ME !! She's definitely got the "right stuff" as they say in Houston !

Regards all........// Ernie in "somewhere"

This is like watching the NORAD Santa tracker, she seems to be covering a lot of ground very quickly, she'll probably be in South America by morning!

That interstate buzzing is just awful. But when Gwen wants it.......she'll make it happen.

Not yet - she seems to have taken a detour off the main highway 94 shortly after crossing into Montana. She appears to be going via highway 7 through Baker and then to Miles City on highway 12.
