Hi all,
As a gift to my wife I'd like to rent a Harley in the bay area for labor day and go to Las Vegas with her. Any advice for a good place to rent at reasonable price and what model I should choose, ideally one with as much storage and comfort as my K1100LT? _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

I can't advise where, but they may require you show your ability to handle a large bike. At least they do here..... even before a test ride.
You could google up what bikes they have, I'm thinking an Electra-Glide Ultra will give you the most luggage I believe, and probably the most comfort. _________________ Ride safe.

You can go through most H-D dealers.

Wouldn't showing up with a K1100LT be enough? _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

Good morning all...
Just gotta add $0.02 to this "rent a Harley" conversation...
I had the opportunity to visit Phoenix a while ago ( appx 3 years ) wanted to have a ride so I could get out with friends there..ie: Harley people.
So I made plans, reserved a Hardley Drivable from the local dealer and picked up a "sharp looking" glitzy black Sportster 883 on arrival .. First thing to go after reaching the hotel was the right side floor board, clevis broken and spring pin fell out somewhere between dealer and hotel ... next was clutch cable would no longer actuate the clutch, bike was parked in neutral and thats where it stayed until the dealer came to haul it back,,, some fun eh ?
Alternative was to rent from the local Honda dealer at a better rate, better ride, and certainly more reliable.. My "Dark Side" friends have yet to get over the humiliation..!
Have fun in Vegas, listen for parts falling off your H/D...

I've rented a couple of Heritage Softails before. One in Kona and one in Vegas. All the renters seemed to care about was that I had a MC endorsement and a credit card that worked. I had no mechanical issues with either. The one I rented in Vegas was obnoxiously LOUD and would set off car alarms everywhere I went. It did about 10 alarms at once when I took it into an underground parking garage. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

LOL!
Actually I'd love riding the beemer but my wife thinks having a trip on a Harley in US would be so great... _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.
