For those who belong to BMWMOA, there are two interesting articles in the newest issue.

The first and cover article is about the 30th anniversary of K bikes.

Then there is a good Paul Glaves wrenching article explaining K bike starter R&R.

GOOD Morning John...

(( unusual BUT a great riding day in NH .... eh? ))

Thanks for posting that link for all of us non-BMWMOA people !! The article by Glaves was good.. I remember doing the same job on the K1100, not in a parking lot but in the comfort of my garage. It was in fact my first K disassembly. I could not believe the sheer volume of petro-CRAP and arc-dust that had accumulated in the commutater cap nor how worn the armature had become.. IF anyone has any thoughts that their starter might need a thorough cleaning and or new brushes, it most probably does!!!
