|
|
Are there any down sides to putting an RS front wheel on an LT? I already have the RS rear and it looks like the combo would lower the seat height some. Not a bad thing for me. I presume the axle spacers would have to be modified or replaced. Would the calipers fit or need to be spaced for a wider rotor spacing? _________________ K1100LT

Brakes are fine.
You'd need RS wheel spacers.
Also the 120 tire is wider and doesn't leave room for a nut so the bolts that hold the fenders on will need to be hex head bolts with the head on the inside of the fork and the nut on the outside. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Just did that earlier this year on mine, the brake calipers are the same on the LT and the RS, You will need to spread the pads as far apart as you can to get them on the rotor, it is a little harder but it will work, the other problem i had was the bolts for the fender where it bolt to the leg are now right at the tire, so you will have to space it so it does not hit the tire, also you will notice a bigger gap between the tire and the fender as the RS wheel is shorter, you will not regret it!!!! _________________ 1993 K1100LT

Wouldn't this also add to the speedometer error we already have with the factory setup? _________________ '95 K1100LT |

The speedo reads off of the rear end. |

Thanks for enlightening me! A search tells me that the difference in rear tire circumference between the LT and RS is negligible and that the speedometers used are the same. _________________ '95 K1100LT |

And the speedos run about 10% high from the factory anyhow. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
