I came across this LT being auctioned on ebay today. The seller has put a video on you tube. Okay so nothing odd so far. But something I have never come across is the battery being placed in the left pannier - see vid http://youtu.be/VPMK1f981Fg
The seller tells the viewer that "these bike eat batteries". I have had 5 LT and 1 K1 and I only ever had one battery fail due to my own stupidity of not checking the water levels. Thanks to whoever invented sealed for life; now the Optimate keeps them going and going. _________________ Matthew

He's talking out of his backside
There must be a charging/regulator fault or a current drain to eat batteries.

That was my immediate thought. I'll bet that there are more than a few people here that can't remember when they last changed their battery. _________________ John & Cathy

With only a day and a half left on his auction I don't think he'll make it to £1000
Currently at £280. That would be a good deal.
It shouldn't take a whole lot to get it back in order. Probably needs an alternator and some wiring un-rednecked.
I'd sure jump on it if it was over here. _________________ '02 - GL1800

So the winning bid was £605
You have to laugh at the description
