Welcome to the forum....

By chance did you also get the handle bar for them?
The bar for the grips will have 1 hole drilled in it near the center for the wires to come out, and at each end the tube will also have holes for the wires to go into the bar.

I've not had one apart so I don't have any pics.
I have heard that it's not impossible to drill the bar, but it is a challenge.
Might be easier to see if you can find a bar that's already drilled for grip wiring.

Thanks for your reply.

The original bar is unavaliable.

Now i can drill the bar, but how ? And the bar weights, how do install it on the bar if i cut the final small tube of the bar ?

I search a photo on the web but i didn't find nothing.

Thank you very much.

Francesco

On the handlebars for the heated grips the part with a smaller diameter is longer (and a thicker tube),
and a cutout is made for the wires.

I went through the same situation 10 years ago with my 97LT. Purchased the BMW parts and then realize I needed to drill-grind the handle bars for the wires. I think the left side just needs a hole drilled, but the right side throttle movement is tricky, needing a slot. A pain, but mine still works.
Had I known, I would have just purchase Hot Grips for 1/4th the money and kept the wires external. That's what I installed on my FJR and they have worked fine for 7 years.

I went through the same issue a couple of years ago also. I had everything I needed to upgrade except the correct bars. (It didn't help much that the part number stamped on my non-heated bars matched what BMW North America had listed for bars with heated grips 32712307480 and the correct heated ones had the same number stamped on them...confusing to say the least.)

Rather than drilling, I waited patiently for a decent set of used heated bars to come along on eBay. I ended up getting the bars alone for about $35 US, and have been enjoying the heated grips ever since. Usually I see them going for a lot higher price than that or someone mistakenly calling standard bars like yours heated ones. (likely due to the parts number error) Just be sure the ends look like the picture Inge loaded with the notches, but the lower type of handlebars for your RS.

Like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-1984-96-KRS-Htd-Grip-HANDLE-BARS-Bar-Cafe-K1100RS-K100RS-R100RS-R80-7-K11RS-/271352917374?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f2de4ed7e

I just went through my photos, and somehow I did not take a single picture of my install, which is odd for me. Sorry to be of no real help.

From Ebay Germany...brand new and expensive....a bit down on the side it's stands K100RS...
But on the pic it seems to be the wider one used on the 16V&K11 and got a smaller dia at the ends........contact seller to be shure.
