Hi all,

My speedo has developed an intermittent fault whereby it reads very low then, sometimes by itself, sometimes after I have stopped, climbs back to the correct speed. Yesterday afternoon it read 30mph for a while then gradually climbed up to the true speed of 70mph. Other times it works perfectly!

I'm in the dark with electronic speedos. Where should I begin to look?

Thanks,

Simon

There is a connector up from the speed sensor on the rear drive that could be causing your problem. My K100LT has done the same thing over the 23 years that I have owned it on occasion. Usually just re-seating the connector has corrected mine.

I've never seen this on my K-Bike...but just recently I had something similar happen on my Boxer Cup Replica...it was doing sort of a pee-pee dance...turned out to be a bad ground at the connector under the seat from the sensor on the final drive.

my k1100 rs 1993 do the same thing with the speedo and the rev counter. But it is random.

For you, It's not a problem caused by an badly elettrical regulation ?

thank you.

Francesco.
