Cheers!
It's been a while. To the extent that I sold my earlie LT/SE and was without a BMW for two years until I imported this one from Sweden two weeks ago. It's a -93 and 59000 kms on the clock.
It seems I need to do throttlebody synchronizing. Queue to dealer is two to three weeks and I cannot wait that long.
There are these two types of devices available locally. Would either one do or would one of them be significantly better?
The one with gauges:
And the other one with fluid:

The manometer type work well if you don't allow the fluid to be sucked into the engine. You can find plans to put together a simple fluid manometer that costs little and will do the job. Search for "home made motorcycle manometer" and you'll see several.
I use the vacuum gauge type for carbs and EFI throttle bodies. They are rugged and plenty accurate for the job. _________________ Paul W.

I have the Carbtune that Duck suggested.
Purchased it from Beemer Boneyard. Good service. Device works well and has no fluid to leak/get sucked/spill etc.

I got my carbtune from the UK many years ago and it works great. As mentioned no fluid to make a mess or get sucked into the TBs by mistake. _________________ Rich

I tried to make one of these to use following the directions/plans online...and had no luck, the fluid would just immediately get sucked into engine etc. I think its very difficult to get everything sealed up, and the restrictors were difficult to get to work right.
The carbtune looks to be good. I just pay a shop 1/2 hr. labor to do it. (i open up the bike as needed) ride over...it takes minutes to accomplish. _________________ 1997 K1100LT-SE
