I just brought a top case for my k1100rs. The saddle bags and top case were from a LT, Would someone tell me what is the web strap for??
This is the strap on the right front of the case "OUTSIDE" close to hinge.
Thanks |

Can you post a picture?
Is it a narrow web with a snap on the end of it?
From the factory there are no straps connected on the outside of the cases. Only on the inside to prevent the lids from "overextending"
It could be possible that it was something added by a previous owner of the case as a "secondary" attachment to the "Z" rail to prevent losing the case.
There have been occasions where the case has become dislodged from the z-rail and fallen off. _________________ Ride safe.

Sounds like the small straps with a snap connector to keep the lids from hitting the pavement when you open them.
The snap is broken off the case on one of mine - therefore the lid has road rash...
But now that I know what kind of glue to use, I can address that issue. _________________ Jim
