Gidday Folks,
Just asking the question about the Russell Day Long seat, they are something we or I do not see over here in Oz, so how common and how often do they come up for sale in the USA used for a K1100LT.
I have looked at their website and the fact that you have to post over your seat is most likely going to break the deal on $$$ but also what price to you put on comfort and a sore ass from a days ride?
Anyone on here have one that you would consider selling and posting across the waters, as sometime postage can be OK which I found out when I restored my 1928 Chevy and was getting parts shipped over? just asking!! _________________ Cheers Grant

They don't come up often, but they do come up. Keep in mind they are custom made according to inseam, height and weight so if one comes up keep that in mind. Some will fit you better than others. _________________ 93 K1100LT

As a point of information the actual "seat" bit of a Russell is an insert that can be taken out and fit into another seat. I bought a complete Russell from an old Gold Wing for next to nothing. Pealed back the upholstery and popped out the seat section and fit it into a K seat I bought for the purpose so if it went wrong I'd still have my original. It took a bit of fiddling to get it in the right attitude and height but it is really comfortable. I still need to have it properly upholstered but even with the stock vinyl draped over it it is miles better than the stock seat.
I took another one apart and it must have been for a bigger rider as there was a piece of wood under the spring to stiffen it and I could see where it had been slit with a wedge of foam added to widen it. _________________ K1100LT
