Hi all,
After exhaustive use of the search feature here I think my issue is the fuel filter but still would like your opinion.
First sign of a problem was I think bad gas, when I rolled on the throttle it would bog down like it was not getting fuel but once in a higher gear it seemed ok, almost thought I would not make it home a few times.
Now that I have another tank of gas in it it seems ok except for the first min. or so after a cold start....now my issue is starting, the bike would always start right up within a second or two. It wont start at all now unless I give it a bunch of throttle and choke and it takes 5-10 seconds or more.
I tried the priming 3 times technique (with kill switch) I found in an earlier post but did not work.
Could the culprit be the fuel filter? Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say that if you can't remember when it was changed last...... I'd be changing it. Then you will know.
Napa Gold 3032 for less than $10 is a good filter. _________________ Ride safe.

As the is nothing more than a fast idle setting, then by using the throttle you override that setting. The choke is meant to give a precise setting for cold starting.

| Sounds like the fuel filter - easy one to try first anyway. |

Thanks everyone, it was a busy August and I finally got around to changing the filter and that seemed to be the culprit, bike starts right up just like before and runs even smoother. It had some cheap plastic filter which I replaced with the NAPA. _________________ Brian
