Good morning all…

Has anyone ever posted a procedure for ABS 2 removal and reinstallation here, or have we stashed it somewhere in the "stickies" ?? Ive tried SEARCH and maybe I just don't know how to use the SEARCH properly… any advice ?? or info ??

I don't think so Ernie.
What are you wanting to do. Total removal, or are you thinking of just removal to make it easier for other tasks.

It's not really that difficult. pull the battery for starters.
When I did removal for my spline lube IIRC:

Used vacuum pump to suck out all/any brake fluid. MC 1st, then at the calliper bleeders to get as much out of the lines as possible.(primarily to avoid getting fluid splashed/dripped on anything else when working with the lines and such).

Then after that it's just a matter of disconnecting the line fittings and taking it apart.

If you want to completely remove the modulator from the bike, there is a cover over the main power relay box that you will need a drill and bit to remove this cover.
I've seen a seen a detailed picture of how to remove this cover, but do you think I saved it to share..... duh me. There is an internal catch you have to release to be able to slide the cover up vertically for removal. The hole is required to release this catch. When done, you can fill the hole with some silicone to seal it, or buy a new cover if you put it back on the bike.

Once you have this cover off, you can disconnect the power wiring to the pump, at this point then you can remove the assy(there are some other fasteners of course) from the bike and set it aside.

If I find it I'll post it up.

Ho Scott…

It doesn't look all that complicated BUT IF there was something I should spend particular attention on, I DO NOT want to screw up the unit… WHY? Because just like Jim and a few others I want to send the entire unit out to "Brake Masters" or whatever their name is, and I want to do it BEFORE HMSP… Hence the question.
If there was/is a delicate "one way - something or another", I was sure that YOU or INGE or maybe even DUCK.. would keep me on the straight and narrow ! Now its just 'go for it baby !!"…..
