I am having trouble with bulb monitoring unit -NO brake light. The dash light is lit and goes out when foot and hand brakes levers/pedal are pushed - yet brake light does not burn - no volts in bulb socket.

The bulb monitor unit (BMU) was installed on K100 and it works and the K100 BMU was installed on K1100 and still the brake light does not light.

So the problem is not the BMU.

In the wiring schematic there is a G/Y fuse to G/B wire which then goes to both brake switches and BMU.

What does a dashed line on the G/Y wire to the fuse box mean?

I can't determine where the wire originates.

I presume the dashed line means switched power but there is no 12volts to the wire when the ignition is on. Maybe that is the source of my problem.

The G/Y wire should have power when the kill switch is in the position ON.

Ran another wire to supply the non-existent power from G/Y wire at the fuse box and now the brake light works.

Need to determine why G/Y no longer supplies power.

Measure if you have power in the connector for the RHS switch assy (right side under the tank).

If you have power in the G/Y wire....it's a open between this connector and the fuse #1.
If you don't have power in the G/Y wire, measure at the G wire.....if you have power in the G wire,
the problem is most likely in the kill switch.
