I'm about ready for new shoes. Currently running BS BT 45s and would like to try radials. I've seen references to folks using PR3s but my local dealer can't seem to find a rear tire for my bike. (110/80-18 f, 140/80-17 r currently). What is the wisdom of the list on tires?
Thanks, David

I put the 110/80ZR-18 on the front and a 150/70ZR-17 on the rear. It is slightly shorter and slightly wider than the stock rear. It made about 2% difference in the speedo. I was reading about 8% off with a Z6 Metzler and 10% off with the Pilot Road 2.

I see no reason why a 140/80-17 Michelin Anakee III would not be a suitable radial rear tire. That is an OEM tire for the R1200GS and looks like about 90% street oriented.

Some riders like a Michelin Pilot Road 3 or Bridgestone BT 023 for the front .

A 150/70-17 requires more effort for placing on centerstand, but the handling is good.

Interesting, but it sure looks more off road oriented than that. I'll call them in the morning to see what they think. Thanks

Let us know the opinion of your dealer.

I may try the Anakee III myself anyway as it appears the Avon AV46 is out of production
