Right, in typical anal fashion, I crawled under the bike as soon as I got home. The spacers are around 5mm (1/4 ") thick.
I will swap them over at some point, and see if 1/4" really makes that much difference.
I'll also take the opportunity to remove the side stand cut off switch, which is a pita. _________________ '08 K1200GT

As I recall you have to jumper the side stand switch. I did mine at the plug under the seat. It is a good idea just better executed on later models where the bike didn't turn off with the side stand down until you put it in gear. It's a pretty handy way to make sure you have put the side stand all the way down when you stop. Reduces the chance for embarrassment...... _________________ K1100LT

I have not noticed a lot of difference in putting the bike on the center stand with the smaller diameter rear tire. I think it is all about technique and momentum. I have been running PR2s and then PR3s for years with great satisfaction.

With a stock size tire the diameter difference is only about 1%:
K1100LT 140/80-17 - 25.82"
K1100RS 160/60-18 - 25.56"
It's a little harder to get up on the center stand but not that much. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
