| Hi noob here. Got my first kbike 4 weeks ago. Previous owner from Vermont hard wired some sort of continous brake light flasher.Would that be enough to screw up the abs? Is cooling fan suppose to stay on when key switch turned off? Fan seems to come on just when I'm coasting back to the driveway after a run. Hate to shut bike off just as fan comes on. Needle dead center of temp gauge. There is a toggle mounted to dash.Doesn't effect anything. I'm sure I'll think if more questions. Thanks in advance. |

| Welcome to the best k1100 information source on the internet.

Welcome to the gang. The first thing I'd do is read the manual about the ABS, it flashes a self test before you start moving. The brake light circuits are also tested when you start rolling and have to hit both brakes.
A '93 is ABS one, so if you are reading make sure it's about the system you have. It's a dinosaur, but when it works right it's very effective.
Half way up is about where my bike ran as a normal temp before I did the lower temperature thermostat.
Please up date your control panel with your bike, and location in case there is someone close to you. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

| Thanks for replies. The bikes in the for sale section. I did try the abs reset, short center pin of connector under seat to ground for 15 seconds with key on. No difference. Also while trying to search for a low seat I discovered my seat has 3 colored stripes, one red snd 2 different blue stripes. Of the hundred or so google seat pictures and countless youtube kbike vids I haven' t seen these seat stripes anywhere. Anyone else have colored stripes on their seat? |

| So, your saying Corbin seats have the stripes and not factiry seats? I have the same stripes except it's a bench seat. |

I can't say as I have seen a stock seat with the striping. Only after-market.
Doesn't mean that a po couldn't have had the original seat re-coverd. _________________ Ride safe.

The ABS reset you tried- you didn't mention holding the ABS switch down in your procedure. You did that also, correct?
As Scott mentioned- the picture is a Corbin "Dual Tour". We have one too, but instead of the stripes, we have a velcro patch on the back of the passenger section that pulls up to reveal where the backrest attaches. _________________ John & Cathy

| With all the videos and pictures I've seen I haven't seen a factory seat with the stripes. Are there some markings for Corbin under the seat?. I did not know you also have to hold the abs switch down as you do the reset procedure for abs1. I'll try that.Thanks. |

It's a Sargent seat. Just spotted the tag on the seat while looking at the bike yesterday. _________________ 1993 K1100lt |
