If you are a member of the BMW Club (UK) they have the special tools for the 16v models in their tool hire facility.

I have registered and posted on the forum, and I do plan to join the club.
They seem to be quite active. |

When you join (£30, but if you join now you get the rest of this year as well), you should get a welcome pack with a Club magazine. My contact details for tools is on page 3.

6th gear is a common comet.
Check the front master cylinder.
Put some red grease under the rubber boot but clean out
any grits. Corrosion may occur inside cylinder and rip seal.
Same could be done for rear. |
