I searched, 1136 posts on radio removal.

I can get the radio out of the holder but can't get the holder out of the plastic box. I need to get to the two screws in the from to get the faring off.

I read in a post to insert a drill bit or small screw driver and it will release the three clips.

All three clips at once?

How far in do they have to go?

Is there a catch I'm supposed to feel?

I'm getting real close to having the bike stripped down...

You know which holes, right?

You can use skewers - they don't have to go in that far. I always used a small awl, and pulled up on the radio case - as each clip released I kept tension on the case so it wouldn't slip back in.

A small screwdriver works, too. No - you have to release each clip individually - start at the top or bottom - but don't let the case slip back in. Or use three small screwdrivers.

Got, thanks to Duck's picture. My 93 had them closer to the top of the box, and I had to reach in and press the tabs towards the inside of the box to get them to release. The middle tab was bent, not sure if I mess up, but I think that was the hold up last night.

Thanks to the brain trust!
