I followed Flying Ducks directions and installed the relay with the diode in-line with the neutral light . Works very well .
THANKS so much for your time F.D. Now I will ride to Daytona and give the bike a good shakedown before riding season comes back to New England. |

| One option is to utilise the defunct yellow light as a stand indicator. |

I am already using the yellow light as a "cruise control engaged" indicator.
But I have always liked FD's use of a separate, dedicated side stand down light.
I guess it just took BMW some time to adopt what is on the new-to-me '09 R-RT. It will idle with the SS down as long as the bike is in neutral. SS down and place it in 1st and the engine is cut off. _________________ John & Cathy

Wow, this thread is old.
On some of my bikes I've since added a cheap flasher relay so that the BMU light flashes if the side stand is down. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
