Hey all,
I discovered while changing the headlight that the plastic housing the wire clip sets into is snapped and no longer retains the clip. Can the white housing ring, seen here: https://i.imgur.com/ZwVqX48.jpg , be replaced on its own, or does it require the entire headlight housing to be swapped?
The parts fiche appears to only show the older retainer-style ring, part 63 12 1 459 470
Any help is much appreciated!

Check eBay for a headlight assembly. Some things are cheaper to complete used, than to buy NOS piecemeal.

Bike breakers are also a good resource.
Then there are the cafe modders that will strip off the stock headlamp assy, and then post up the removed parts for sale.
Keep your eyes open, they are out there.

Thanks for the responses! Sounds like the rear shell itself needs to be replaced, but that white ring isn't replaceable on its own?

That part you're looking for is part of the headlight assembly, does not have a separate part number and is not sold separately. I recommend the suggestion you've already been given to look for a used headlight shell. You can look for one from a K1100RS or LT.

FYI: There's two styles of headlight reflector.
One has the fold over spring type bulb retainer and the other has a locking ring. The spring type is better IMO.

Yep, and I've currently got the broken spring version. Would you happen to have a spring-clip housing in your stock?

Yes, I do have a reflector "bucket" with the spring retainer. $70 shipped if you're in the US.
