|
|
I have a problem with the rear brake on my K1100 1995, the bike is on a lift being worked on. The problem is the the rear brake pads lock in hot weather and release when it cools down, all brake lines are new, pads are new and the brake fluid is new. I have bled the system 3 times and still have the same problem. This bike is not on the road and brake pedal is not touched! anyone have any clue? _________________ 1995 K1100 LT |

I'd suggest double check the adjustment settings on the pedal.
It's slightly possible you could be having some crap in the caliper that could be restricting the fluid flow.
Have you changed the seals in the caliper?
Does this bike still have the ABS modulator installed? _________________ Ride safe.

I just installed an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator on mine. Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom! _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

Did you suck fluid from bleeder down, or blow fluid up into reservoir?
Also, check the stop bolt on the pedal, could fluid be leaking past causing the lockup?
Did you put lube on the pin through the pads? _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

It could also be the flexible brake pipe collapsing internally. They don't last for ever. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

Were the caliper pistons super, super clean when you pushed them back in to install the new pads? _________________ 96 K1100 LT--gone

It could be that the caliper pistons are seizing. Rebuilding or replacing the caliper might be in order. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Might be the master cylinder.
I had to strip mine.
There was corrosion inside the cylinder. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |
