I've seen a few comments about the Clymer manual for the K1100LT online, most are neutral to negative. Is it really that bad? _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

You know what they say, if you try to do many things at the same time you cannot do any single thing with excellence.
They try and cover the whole K-bike lineage in one book, instead of a volume for each major engine format. IE 3-cyl, 4-cyl2v, 4-cyl4v.
Not sure where they obtained their information, for the most part it's pretty close, but there are some parts that are not accurate.
I have not seen or used one from Haynes, so I can't say if theirs is any better or not. _________________ Ride safe.

Hmm. I was thinking the same thing, why are they lumping all the models into one book? I guess I'll stick to the factory manual for now. Not great, but at least it is specific. _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

The Clymer manual (often lovingly referred to as The Clymer Book Of Lies) is decent and worth having if you can find a decent price for a used one on Fleabay.
Originally for 2V Ks with 4V K stuff added later. Flipping around to the addendum for 4V Ks is kind of a pain but not the end of the world. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Does it include something more than just the regular repair manual anyone can download? _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

Have both and find Clymer useful.

I find the photo-illustrations most often dark and somewhat blurred making interpretation tiresome. It may be just the edition that I have, but it's the same for Clymer manuals for the other bikes I have. I find Clymer useful when on-hand, but the hard copy factory Service Manual and the CD are IMO far better.
Have fun, no matter what you get.

It is light years better than the Haynes version, once you have translated the American technology terms into English _________________ 1997 K1100LT
