|
|
So I was checking mirror prices online. I doubt buying primed and painting it with Kryolan would look good. However, I noticed I can get it painted direct from BMW.
Pricing aside... What's the difference between Classic Black and Nacht Schwartz (Night Black)? My K1100LT is color code 721 (Aspen Silver/Nacht Schwartz), but mirrors aren't available in that black, but are in Classic black. Is Classic not as dark? Or is Night Black darker? Or are they essentially the same? I don't want to buy classic and have the two mirrors stick out like sore thumbs... _________________ M N B

Not sure the mix difference, but regardless of what code you get, your probably not going to have an exact match from age fading of your bike finish anyway.
I bought a mirror with the same paint code as my bike, it's close, but you can tell it doesn't exactly match.

Yeah, I expect it'll be a little off. I'm just trying to avoid a glaring difference. _________________ M N B

I have a Classic Black Metallic code 679 bike. When the sun hits the metal flake at a certain angle you can see a dark green tint.
Check out this link for more paint codes:

Thanks, that's all I needed to know. Night Black is not metallic. Classic Black is, so it would be a bad choice... _________________ M N B
