I have a yellow light under my oil light on the tach side of my speed-0 unit. the yellow light flashes and sometimes stay on solid, this speed-o unit was a replacment. I was sent to replace one that was damaged. I checked to pins and Plug and they where the same on both units Not sure what to think about this yellow light it has no simble or wording like the other lights have? any Ideas anyone?

On mine, that one's an over temperature warning. If it comes on the engine should stop. Therefore IMO tis an electrical fault, not the engine over heating _________________ Regards Tim,

The Unit has a Temp light as well? This yellow light seems to change if I push the ABS switch from flashing to solid on? the temp Gauge for the engine temp runs at center. I wonder if there is a Fault code for this light after all the power problem I had getting the fuel pump powered up, she seems to run great now I just got back from a little 20 mile test ride No problems just the yellow light going?? I do need to bring the idle up a little Not sure how to do that?

Try the above link, you can read out the Motronic diagnostics by counting the flashes of the temperature lamp.
If hitting the ABS button makes that lamp change, there's definitely an electrical fault. The temp gauge is happy, so it's not overheating.
There are TWO temp senders, one for the gauge & the other tells the Motronic the temperature, in order to have a stab at setting the mixture. I would check it's connections. They have also been known to go intermittant. _________________ Regards Tim,

I'd synch the throttlebodies before messing with anything else. That will make your bike run smoother and probably bring up the idle a bit. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

When I first got my LT, I had an intermittant light indicating high
engine temp, but the guage showed temps in the normal range.
With help from Mick, I discovered an over tight wire tie causing
the problem, snipped wire tie, problem disappeared. Yee-haw !! _________________ Kent

MY K100RS4V was having the temp light come on and the temp gauge showed normal. When I moved the wiring around the light would go out. So I zip-tied the wiring clump in a position where it didn't make the light go on. Then I sold the bike. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I have a yellow light that comes on warning of low fuel. Has nothing to do with ABS function or heat. Could this be it? _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

There's a sticky thread at the top of the Pictures sub-forum which explains posting pictures.

OK, here's the pic. That's where the early K75/K100 choke light was.
IF you try unplugging the cluster or disconnecting the battery and letting the bike sit for a few minutes, it might help the clock.
If your clock is toast, you might be able to salvage the old one from the old cluster if it survived the the wrath of the axe-wielding witch. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks FD I think I got the Picture deal figured out. Yeah the Bike sat from 1997 till I bought it about a year ago. so it had to have a new Battery so I put in a Good AGM battery I have them in my other 5 bikes as well , love them AGM batterys. I was going to ask about the clock next but wanted to get things working first.

Virg,
I'm guessing you have the wrong instrument cluster. That yellow lamp IS what used to be the choke indication like others have said. My early '93 has the lens just like all the other K1100's but there is no lamp behind it in the cluster.

I suggest that pull the cluster and check the part number on the back.
If you need the right instrument cluster, I have a couple listed here that will work on your bike:
http://smithduck3.home.comcast.net/~smithduck3/kbikeparts/kbikeparts.htm#General%20Electrical/Lighting
Since you're on the K11OG board here, I'll give you free shipping and upgrade the backlighting to LEDs for free as well. (Am I a nice guy or what? ) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

FD do you think it would cause any problem to just remove the bulb from the choke light in my Dash unit? or might that cause a fault code of somekind? or maybe clip a wire that feeds it? if I knew the color of the wire in the harnes?

Hmm..
I don't know. I'm not sure if or how they changed the pin configuration for the wiring connector between those bikes.
Since you'rs is a 94 (right?) then the ABS lights will be different from earlier bikes.
I guess you could pull the bulb.
I sure wouldn't run around clipping wires without knowing what their prupose is.
Have you ridden the bike yet? Do the speedo and tach work properly? (Just for kicks I tried a K100RS4V cluster on a K75 and the speedo didn't work.)
I'd get the right speedo for an ABS II K1100 if I were you. You can always sell the cluster you have on eBay or place a free ad on the IBMWR marketplace. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
