Hi fellow brick riders,
I have lost the plastic cap and centre bolt from the rear wheel - had new tyres fitted by a dealer a few months ago! I have been told that the bike is safe to ride with the centre bolt missing as it only holds the plastic wheel cover in place. I have been using the bike with no problems - as I thought I had only lost the cover - however, now I am not confident to use the bike until I replace the centre bolt. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Mark (photoman) |

You should be fine. Most of the sheer force is on the other four bolts and lots of BMWs never had a center bolt.

I don't use the center bolt on my sidecar conversion, and have had no problems. _________________ Mike Currin
