With my 1996 K1100RS on its centerstand, will the bike "sit back" onto its rear wheel when I remove the front wheel, or will I have to support the bike via a jack? I searched this forum but I couldn't find the answer. Thanks.

Without loaded panniers the bike will need to be jacked up under the sump.

You must support the bike. I place a floor jack under the front of the motor and it holds it fine. I put a small block of wood wrapped in a towel on the jack so as to not leave marks on the pan. Asuming there is not belly pan on the bike.

Once you've removed the belly pan you can also just have someone push down on the rear and support the front at the oil sump with phone books, blocks of wood, whatever.

Thanks for the replies. I just didn't want to remove the belly pan if I didn't have to. Thanks again.

Well if you have someone hold the back(or sit on it) long enough to remove the wheel put your blocking under the forks when your done and you won't have to mess with the belly pan.
